Listening - West Virginia is so poor!

 

 

We're in McDow County West Virginia and this is cold country mister or it was coal country

There probably isn't a place in America that's seen a bigger boom then bust where we are right now

McDow county is now the poorest place in the country

You could say McDow county is West Virginia's West Virginia

Driving around this part of appalache land it's kind of like exploring a real live ghost town in progress

This is not what the United States is supposed to look like

but truth isn't always pretty and it's not always something you want to see, is it?

 

우리는 지금 웨스트버지니아 주 맥도웰 카운티에 있습니다. 여기는 추운 고장이죠 또는 석탄의 고장이었죠

아마도 미국 어디에서도 이곳만큼 큰 호황과 큰 몰락을 겪은 곳은 없을 겁니다.

지금의 맥도웰 카운티는 나라에서 가장 가난한 지역이 되었습니다.

맥도웰 카운티는 웨스트버지니아의 웨스트버지니아라고도 할 수 있겠죠.

이 애팔래치아 지역을 차로 돌아다니다 보면, 마치 살아 있는 유령 도시를 탐험하는 기분이 듭니다.

이건 우리가 알고 있는 미국의 모습이 아닙니다.

하지만 진실이란 항상 아름답지만은 않고, 꼭 보고 싶은 것도 아니죠, 그렇지 않나요?
